    Description

    IEC TR 60919-2:2008+A1:2015+A2:2020 provides guidance on the transient performance and fault protection requirements of high voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. It concerns the transient performance related to faults and switching for two-terminal HVDC systems utilizing 12-pulse converter units comprised of three-phase bridge (double way) connections but it does not cover multi-terminal HVDC transmission systems. However, certain aspects of parallel converters and parallel lines, if part of a two-terminal system, are discussed. The converters are assumed to use thyristor valves as the bridge arms, with gapless metal oxide arresters for insulation co-ordination and to have power flow capability in both directions. Diode valves are not considered in this report. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition, published in 1991, and constitutes a technical revision. It includes the following main changes with respect to the previous edition:
    - it concerns only line-commutated converters;
    - isignificant changes have been made to the control system technology;
    - some environmental constraints, for example audible noise limits, have been added;
    - the capacitor coupled converters (CCC) and controlled series capacitor converters (CSCC) have been included. This consolidated version consists of the second edition (2008), its amendment 1 (2015) and its amendment 2 (2020). Therefore, no need to order amendment in addition to this publication.

    Description

    IEC TR 60919-1:2020 is available as IEC TR 60919-1:2020 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.

    IEC TR 60919-1:2020(E) provides general guidance on the steady-state performance requirements of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. It concerns the steady-state performance of two-terminal HVDC systems utilizing 12-pulse converter units comprised of three-phase bridge (double-way) connections, but it does not cover multiterminal HVDC transmission systems. Both terminals are assumed to use thyristor valves as the main semiconductor valves and to have power flow capability in both directions. Diode valves are not considered in this document. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
    - Figure 8 and Figure 20 have been updated, a new Figure 18 "LCC/VSC hybrid bipolar system" has been added;
    - the HVDC system control objectives have been supplemented;
    - additional explanations regarding the HVDC system control structure have been given;
    - a new subclause 13.6 on HVDC system protection has been added.

    Description

    IEC TR 60146-1-2:2019 RLV contains both the official IEC International Standard and its Redline version. The Redline version is available in English only and provides you with a quick and easy way to compare all the changes between the official IEC Standard and its previous edition.
    IEC TR 60146-1-2:2019 gives guidance on variations to the specifications given in IEC 60146-1-1:2009 to enable the specification to be extended in a controlled form for special cases. Background information is also given on technical points, which facilitates the use of IEC 60146-1-1:2009. This technical report primarily covers line commutated converters and is not in itself a specification, except as regards certain auxiliary components, in so far as existing standards may not provide the necessary data. This fifth edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
    a) addition of annexes concerning the applications of converter transformers and of fuses for overcurrent protection;
    b) changes of calculation methods related the inductive voltage regulation and changes of description on transformer losses to be consistent with the latest transformer standards;
    c) addition and updates of references based on the latest information.

    Description

    IEC TR 61850-90-3:2016(E) addresses communication aspects related to specific sensor networks that are widely used as well as information exchange towards asset management systems. Since the outcome of this work will affect several parts of IEC 61850, in a first step, this technical report has been prepared to address the topic from an application specific viewpoint across all affected parts of IEC 61850. Once this technical report has been approved, the affected parts of the standard will be amended with the results from the report. This approach is similar to what is done as an example with IEC 61850-90-1 for the communication between substations.
    The contents of the corrigendum of November 2020 have been included in this copy.

    Description

    IEC SRD 63268(E) depicts a comprehensive standardization landscape of the interfaces between the main grid stakeholders and the grid users, grid users comprising DERs and Customer Premises.
    This document considers the main "physical" and "logical" interactions (i.e. through wires/functions – power and/or communication) between grid users and grid stakeholders, both from an electrical standpoint and from a data standpoint. Then for each interaction type, the document presents the standardization landscape.
    This document depicts, as well, the interactions between the grid stakeholders manipulating grid user related data, themselves. Effectively it appears that considering the sole landscape of the interfaces between the grid users and the grid would be very limited without considering the way the data attached to grid users are manipulated/managed within and between the different stakeholders holding these data. Providing a seamless vision of the management of these data is becoming of highest priority.
    The document focuses exclusively on Distribution grid users, excluding as such "bulk generation" grid users and "transmission connected grid users", the main reason being that the main breakthrough resulting from the introduction of distributed energy resources affects mostly the Distribution grid users.
    This document mostly focuses on establishing the standardization landscape for the considered domain, including the IEC entities involved in producing reports, technical specifications and standards related to it. From this assessment a first set of recommendations is issued related to the way IEC addresses this scope.
