This webinar will present and discuss guidelines and practical implications of how adopting a consumer/prosumer-centric approach and enabling energy communities can be pivotal in enhancing the energy transformation for reaching Fit for 55 targets and supporting the REPowerEU plan through the use of digital solutions. Among the topics that will be addressed are the adoption of innovative digital solutions, promoting customer engagement, and the continuous education of youths and adults. The European Commission, under the lead of DG Energy, will set the scene within the framework of the upcoming Digitalisation of Energy Action Plan. ETIP SNET will complement it with a European multi-stakeholder point of view through the voices of industry, research and university. The session will make reference to the High-Level Use Case 5, part of the ETIP SNET R&I Implementation Plan 2022-2025, which aims to develop the necessary R&I to facilitate one-stop-shop and consumer/citizen participation in the energy system and, correspondingly, the inclusion of the energy system in the concept of data economy. During the workshop, EIRIE will be presented and its main functionalities will be described in detail. EIRIE is meant to be a reference point for the EU Research & Innovation community by facilitating to search, find and share relevant results from EU projects thus supporting R&I activities and investments across Europe. Being the main focus of EIRIE the fields of smart grids, storage and local energy systems, two round tables will be dedicated to discussing with invited stakeholders from industry, academia and research organisations about the role of storage, e-mobility and energy policies in supporting the clean energy transition. 27 April 202227 April 2022Add to Calendar 2022-04-27 09:00:00 2022-04-27 17:00:00 "International research collaboration opportunities fostering EU Clean Energy transition in Baltic States – PANTERA / SUPEERA" joint workshop Baltic States are actively working towards the success of the energy transition objectives and implementation of declared policies for achieving the low carbon economy. Yet, together with other less involved countries they have low participation rates in research and innovation (R&I) activities and the realisation of the European Union’s Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan Implementation Plans. As a consequence, and unlike more successful Member States they have received only a marginal contribution of EU R&I Horizon 2020’s budget. In this context, PANTERA and SUPEERA are joining forces with the objective to enhance collaboration in R&I activities in these countries, facilitate knowledge exchange and showcase best practices of how international networking and cooperation between national stakeholders and key international associations and organisations can be beneficial for establishing long-lasting interactions and fostering joint R&I activities. Therefore, the workshop will offer a detailed overview of the European policies, strategies, EU funding programmes and collaboration opportunities at the disposal to the research community of the Baltic States and bringing them closer to the R&I activities of Europe and get active with the SET Plan process. Meanwhile, the invited experts and stakeholders will share their experience in the project implementation. All together we will discuss the possibility of developing a shared vision and strategy for cooperation between the Baltic States in the upcoming research and innovation activities and work to identify our strong points and nurture solutions for building a competitive advantage. The demonstration led by ELES in the OSMOSE project demonstrated the possibility of cross-border flexibility activation near-to-real time while complying with grid limitations. The near real-time potential of flexibility of hydro producers was explored: new tools were developed and live demonstrated to estimate their remaining flexibility 15 min before delivery time. The processes implemented resulted in a real cross-border activation thanks to a selection of bids every 5 minutes and an activation signal sent every 10 seconds.
