Technical committeeTypeAcronymISO/TS 18409CommitteePublished year2018Description
ISO/TS 18409:2018 specifies two methods for collecting a fluid sample to be used to analyse the cleanliness of hydraulic fluid power hoses or hose assemblies within a certain inside diameter and length range (this range includes the majority of hose assemblies of real fluid power applications).
The two methods described in this document are intended for collecting only solid particulate contamination; they may not be appropriate for collecting contamination in liquid or grease form.
ISO/TS 18409:2018 is a specific application of ISO 18413:2015, specifically Annexes A and B.
The scope of ISO/TS 18409:2018 does not include providing efficient and effective cleaning methods for hose assemblies. These methods are recommended for statistical validation of other hose cleaning methods, which are more suitable for systematic processing of large production batches.
Contamination analysis is excluded from the scope of this document.

Technical committeeTypeAcronymISO 7745CommitteePublished year2010Description
ISO 7745:2010 specifies the operational characteristics for the various categories of fire-resistant fluids defined by ISO 6743-4. ISO 7745:2010 details the factors to be considered when selecting a fluid from these categories for a proposed application.
ISO 7745:2010 identifies difficulties which might arise from the use of such fluids and indicates how they may be minimized. Appropriate procedures are given for replacing one fluid with another from a different category. Health and safety aspects when handling and disposing of fire-resistant fluids are also covered.
ISO 7745:2010 does not apply to fire-resistant fluids used in the hydraulic systems of commercial or military aircraft. The appropriate aviation standards are also usually applied where aircraft hydraulic fluids are filled into ground-based systems.

ISO 7241:2014 specifies the interface dimensions and basic performance requirements for two series of hydraulic quick-action couplings. Both series are in widespread use and have similar technological advantages. Series A is used predominantly in Europe and is preferred worldwide for agricultural and forestry machinery, and ISO 7241:2014 also specifies additional requirements for Series A for use in agricultural machinery applications covered in ISO 5675. Series B is used predominantly in North America and in the chemical industry.

Technical committeeTypeAcronymISO 6605CommitteePublished year2017Description
ISO 6605:2017 specifies uniform test methods for evaluating the performance of hoses and hose assemblies (hoses and attached hose fittings) used in hydraulic fluid power systems.
Specific tests and performance criteria for evaluating hoses and hose assemblies used in hydraulic applications are in accordance with the requirements of the respective product (hoses or hose fitting) specifications.

Technical committeeTypeAcronymISO 6164CommitteePublished year2018Description
This document gives general and dimensional specifications for flanged heads, flange clamps, ports and mounting surfaces applicable to four-screw, one-piece square flange clamp type tube connectors and hose fittings for use at a pressure of 42 MPa [420 bar[1]]. It also specifies the dimensions of the seals to be used, as well as the grooves that house the seals.
These connections are intended for application in hydraulic systems on industrial and commercial products where it is desired to avoid the use of threaded connectors.
[1] 1 bar = 0,1 MPa = 105 Pa; 1 Pa = 1 N/m2.

Technical committeeTypeAcronymISO 18869CommitteePublished year2017Description
ISO 18869:2017 specifies methods for testing and evaluating the performance of quick-action couplings for use in hydraulic fluid power applications. This document does not apply to the testing of tube connections, stud ends for ports and flange connections, which are covered by ISO 19879.
Test methods covered in this document are independent of each other and outline the method to follow for each test. See the respective connector standard for which tests to conduct and for performance requirements. It is not intended that all tests be carried out for every application; it is up to the user of this document to select the applicable tests.
For qualification of the coupling, the minimum number of samples specified in this document is to be tested, unless otherwise specified in the relevant coupling standard or as agreed upon by the manufacturer and the user.

Technical committeeTypeAcronymISO 14540CommitteePublished year2013Description
ISO 14540:2013 specifies dimensional and performance requirements for hydraulic screw-to-connect quick-action couplings designed to be used at pressure of 72 MPa (720 bar) in static conditions as an interface between a hydraulic power unit and a tool. Typical applications for these couplings are related to hydraulic jacks, rams, clamping devices, hand tools, and cylinders.
ISO 14540:2013 covers two types of such couplings: the "P" type, which has a poppet valve, and the "S" type, which has a spherical valve.

This document specifies sizes and nominal working pressures for seamless and welded precision steel tubes with outside diameters in accordance with ISO 4397, and wall thicknesses and mechanical properties in accordance with ISO 3305. The nominal working pressures included in this document reflect a design factor ratio of 4 to 1 applied to the calculated burst pressures.
