    Description

    Gives the construction, dimensions and test requirements of screened or unscreened single core cable to be installed in the primary circuits of series systems for lighting and beaconing of airports. It does not apply to primary cables with connectors moulded to them. This specification does not consider special performance of cables in case of fire. If such special performance (flame propagation, smoke emission and acidity/corrosivity of fumes) is required, relevant International Standards not mentioned here should be applied. The cables can, additionally, be subjected to particular requirements not included in this specification, if requested by the customer. Any additional tests or modification of dimensions should be agreed between the manufacturer and the customer. This specification takes into account the particular conditions of primary circuits and, as far as possible, is in line with the specifications contained in IEC 60502-2.

    Description

    IEC 62895:2017 specifies test methods and requirements for transmission power cable systems, cables with extruded insulation and their accessories for fixed land installations, for rated voltages up to and including 320 kV.
    Within the scope of this standard “extruded insulation” means insulation manufactured by extrusion of either thermoplastic (e.g. polyethylene) or crosslinked (e.g. crosslinked polyethylene, ethylene propylene rubber, etc.) material. The insulation material may be either unfilled or filled (e.g. with mineral or carbon).
    The requirements apply to single-core cables in combination with their accessories, outdoor and terminations for gas insulated systems, joints, and asymmetric joints for usual conditions of installation and operation, but not to special cables and their accessories, such as submarine cables, for which modifications to the standard tests may be necessary or special test conditions may need to be devised.

    IEC 62893-2(E) specifies test methods which are particular for cables with extruded insulation and sheath having a voltage rating of up to and including 0,6/1 kV AC or up to and including 1 500 V DC for flexible applications under harsh conditions for the power supply between the electricity supply point or the charging station and the electric vehicle (EV).

    Description

    IEC 62893-1+A1 specifies construction, dimensions and test requirements for cables with extruded insulation and sheath having a voltage rating of up to and including 0,6/1 kV AC or up to and including 1 500 V DC for flexible applications under harsh conditions for the power supply between the electricity supply point of the charging station and the electric vehicle (EV). The EV charging cable is intended to supply power and, if needed, communication (for details see the IEC 62196 series and IEC 61851-1) to an EV or plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV). The charging cables are applicable for charging modes 1 to 4 of IEC 61851-1. Ordinary duty cables with rated voltage 300/500 V are only permitted for charging mode 1 of IEC 61851-1. Maximum conductor temperature for the cables in this part of IEC 62893 is 90 ºC. The particular types of cables are specified in IEC 62893-3 (modes 1 to 3 for AC charging) and in the future IEC 62893-4 (mode 4 for DC charging). These parts are collectively referred to hereafter as “the particular specifications”. The test methods specified are given in IEC 62893-2, IEC 60245-2, IEC 60332-1-2, IEC 62821-1, Annex B, and in the relevant parts of IEC 60811, as listed in the normative references.

    Description

    IEC 60502-2:2014 RLV contains both the official IEC International Standard and its Redline version. The Redline version is available in English only and provides you with a quick and easy way to compare all the changes between the official IEC Standard and its previous edition.
    IEC 60502-2:2014 specifies the construction, dimensions and test requirements of power cables with extruded solid insulation from 6 kV up to 30 kV for fixed installations such as distribution networks or industrial installations. When determining applications, it is recommended that the possible risk of radial water ingress is considered. Cable designs with barriers claimed to prevent longitudinal water penetration and an associated test are included in this part of IEC 60502. Cables for special installation and service conditions are not included, for example cables for overhead networks, the mining industry, nuclear power plants (in and around the containment area) nor for submarine use or shipboard application. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition, published in 2005, and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
    a) a simplified calculation procedure for the thickness of the lead sheath and the oversheath;
    b) a new subclause for the determination of the cable conductor temperature;
    c) a modified procedure for the routine voltage test;
    d) a new subclause for a routine electrical test on oversheath;
    e) modified requirements for the non-metal sheaths including semi-conductive layer;
    f) modified tolerances for the bending test cylinder;
    g) the inclusion of a 0,1Hz test after installation.
    In addition, the modified structure of the IEC 60811 series has been adopted for this third edition.

    Description

    IEC 60332-3-10:2018 RLV contains both the official IEC International Standard and its Redline version. The Redline version is available in English only and provides you with a quick and easy way to compare all the changes between the official IEC Standard and its previous edition.

    IEC 60332-3-10:2018 details the apparatus and its arrangement and calibration for methods of test for the assessment of vertical flame spread of vertically mounted bunched wires or cables, electrical or optical, under defined conditions. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2000 and Amendment 1:2008. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
    a) adjustments have been made to the title, and elsewhere, to emphasise the standard is applicable to optical fibre cables as well as metallic conductor types;
    b) details of the way in which cables are mounted on the ladder have been better defined in order to improve repeatability and reproducibility;
    c) the connection of the venturi mixer to the burner is better defined.
    It has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.
    The contents of the corrigendum of October 2018 have been included in this copy.
