Technical committeeTypeAcronymIEC 60896-22:2004CommitteePublished year2004Description
This part of IEC 60896 applies to all stationary lead-acid cells and monobloc batteries of the valve regulated type for float charge applications, (i.e. permanently connected to a load and to a d.c. power supply), in a static location (i.e. not generally intended to be moved from place to place) and incorporated into stationary equipment or installed in battery rooms for use in telecom, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), utility switching, emergency power or similar applications. The objective of this part of IEC 60896 is to assist the specifier in the understanding of the purpose of each test contained within IEC 60896-21 and provide guidance on a suitable requirement that will result in the battery meeting the needs of a particular industry application and operational condition. This standard is used in conjunction with the common test methods described in IEC 60896-21 and is associated with all types and construction of valve regulated stationary lead-acid cells and monoblocs used in standby power applications.

Technical committeeTypeAcronymIEC 60896-11:2002CommitteePublished year2002Description
This part of IEC 60896 is applicable to lead-acid cells and batteries which are designed for service in fixed locations (i.e. not habitually to be moved from place to place) and which are permanently connected to the load and to the d.c. power supply. Batteries operating in such applications are called "stationary batteries". Any type or construction of lead-acid battery may be used for stationary battery applications. This part 11 of the standard is applicable to vented types only. This first edition of IEC 60896-11 cancels and replaces IEC 60896-1 (first edition) published in 1987 and its amendments 1 (1988) and 2 (1990), and constitutes a technical revision.

Technical committeeTypeAcronymIEC 60891:2009CommitteePublished year2009Description
IEC 60891:2009 defines procedures to be followed for temperature and irradiance corrections to the measured I-V (current-voltage) characteristics of photovoltaic devices. It also defines the procedures used to determine factors relevant for these corrections. Requirements for I-V measurement of photovoltaic devices are laid down in IEC 60904-1. The main technical changes with regard the previous edition are as follows:
- extends edition 1 translation procedure to irradiance change during I-V measurement;
- adds 2 new translation procedures;
- revises procedure for determination of temperature coefficients to include PV modules;
- defines new procedure for determination of internal series resistance;
- defines new procedure for determination of curve correction factor. -

IEC 60870-6-802:2014 specifies a method of exchanging time-critical control centre data through wide-area and local-area networks using a full ISO compliant protocol stack. It contains provisions for supporting both centralized and distributed architectures. The standard includes the exchange of real-time data indications, control operations, time series data, scheduling and accounting information, remote program control and event notification. This new edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
- certain objects have been changed from informative to normative;
- certain TASE.2 conformance blocks have been made out of scope. -
Technical committeeTypeAcronymIEC 60870-6-702CommitteePublished year2014Description
IEC 60870-6-702:2014 is a functional profile (FP) and defines the provision of the TASE.2 communications services between two control centre end systems. It is supported by the transport services implemented in accordance with transport-profiles defined for the type of network that interconnects the control centre end systems. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are listed below:
- certain objects were moved from being normative to informative;
- certain TASE.2 conformance blocks have been made out-of-scope. These changes were made in order to remove TASE.2 blocks that were seldom used and whose capabilities are typically implemented by some other means besides TASE.2. This was done to promote interoperability of implementations from an application perspective. -
