ECOCASA

Project full name:
Intelligent Spaces and Social Computing for Behaviour Change in End-Consumers
The ECOCASA Project (Intelligent spaces and social computing for behaviour change in end-consumers) aims at creating a novel platform to change the behavior of residential energy consumers towards more efficient habits that would lead to a drastic reduction in the consumption/production of energy and emissions, without crossing the consumers´ comfort levels.

Dream-Go

Project full name:
Enabling Demand Response for short and real-time Effcient And Market Based smart Grid Operation - An intelligent and real-time simulation approach
Smart Grid (SG) concepts are rapidly being transferred to the market and huge investments have been made in renewable-based electricity generation and rolling out smart meters. However, the present state of the art does not ensure neither a good return of investment nor a sustainable and efficient power system. The work so far in the EU involves mainly larger stakeholders, namely power utilities and manufacturers more focused on production and grid resources.

MEAN4SG

Project full name:
Metrology Excellence Academic Network for Smart Grids
MEAN4SG will educate 11 young researchers in the Smart Grids metrology field by constructing a training network gathering the whole innovation value chain. The overall MEAN4SG research programme tackles the main research challenges in the smart grids metrology field identified by the European R&D community: 1.power quality analysis, 2.smart grids modelling and management, 3.advanced monitoring through Phasor Measurement Units applications and 4.smart cable diagnosis. These main goals have been divided into eleven specific objectives, which will be assigned to the fellows, for them

MAIGE

Project full name:
Advanced Monitoring System in Gas and Electricity Distribution Networks
MAIGE project focuses on the concept of Asset Management, having a direct impact on the level of inspection and maintenance in electric distribution networks, where is intended to reinforce the assets with smart management, so the maintenance crews will be able to act remotely. MAIGE project aims to meet the following requirements: 1.Development of a set of robust and low-cost sensors to be installed in the distribution substations. These sensors aim to check the status of different components of the facility remotely, following the public regulations and avoiding in situ tests.

BESOS

Project full name:
Building Energy decision Support systems fOr Smart cities
BESOS proposes the development of an advanced, integrated, management system which enables energy efficiency in smart cities from a holistic perspective. To that end, the Energy Management Systems deployed in a typical district that are consuming or producing energy, and which nowadays normally count with an isolated IT management solution, will be able to share data and services through and open trustworthy platform among themselves and to external third party applications. This enables the design and development of higher level applications –i.e.

ELECTRA

Project full name:
European Liaison on Electricity Committed Towards long-term Research Activities for Smart Grids.
The ELECTRA Integrated Research Programme on Smart Grids (ELECTRA) brings together the partners of the EERA Joint Programme on Smart Grids (JP SG) to reinforce and accelerate Europe’s medium to long term research cooperation in this area and to drive a closer integration of the research programmes of the participating organisations and of the related national programmes. ELECTRA’s joint research activity and collaborative support actions build on an established track record of collaboration and engagement.

CIPOWER

Project full name:
Controllable and Intelligent Power Components
The route towards a more energy sustainable world goes through an improved energy system on all levels from the producers to the consumers. The technological challenges that need to be addressed to realize the strategic energy objectives are faced in the program Çcontrollable and intelligent power componentsÉ. The objective is to develop innovative power components with advanced control and monitoring that pave the path towards an optimum power transmission and distribution system.

i-sare

Project full name:
i-sare
This project’s scope is to create an interoperable micro grid, aiming to develop a power grid more efficient and reliable, to improve safety and quality of supply in accordance with the requirements of the digital age. This micro intelligent network serves as a test bench to develop and validate the status of different distributed renewable generators (micro wind turbine, PV converter, fuel cell) and storage technologies (super capacitors, flywheel, Li-ion battery). The total installed power (peak) in the micro grid is of 350 kW.

Bidelek

Project full name:
BIDELEK SAREAK
The Basque Government through The Basque Energy Agency (EVE) and Iberdrola Distribución Eléctrica, on the basis of their common interest in the matter, are leading the BIDELEK SAREAK project. This project aims to deploy Smart Grids in both cities and towns in order to increase the security and efficiency of the electric energy supply.

Grasp

Project full name:
GReen procurement And Smart city suPport in the energy sector
GRASP is a Med Programme Poject’s and its aim is to increase the potential of MED Smart cities in organizing and developing Smart and Green e-Procurement processes with a focus on renewable energy sources and energy efficient solutions.
