SMARTSPACES

Project full name:
Saving Energy in Europe’s Public Buildings Using ICT
In SMARTSPACES, ICT-based services for public buildings have been evaluated across Europe. Almost 600 buildings were equipped with the ICT-solution. The services are designed to evaluate the impact on overall energy consumption in public buildings (non-residential). Energy efficiency investments are a cost-effective means for decreasing energy consumption, reducing energy bills and reducing the likelihood for energy poverty. The SMARTSPACES solution offers Energy Management (EMS) and energy Decision Support and Awareness services (EDSS). The solution is based on ICT and smart metering.

BECA

Project full name:
Balanced European Conservation Approach – ICT services for resource saving in social housing
The BECA project designed, developed and piloted new solutions to enable sustained reductions in energy consumption across European social housing. This was accomplished by providing usable ICT-based services for Energy Management (EMS) and Energy Decision Support Service (EDSS) directly to tenants as well as to social housing staff. The project achieved 15% savings for heating, 11% for cold water and 17% for hot water. Savings amount to 570MWh which equals 177 tons of CO2 per year. Financial pay-off is achieved by most stakeholders during the first 3 years.

ENER - SUPPLY

Project full name:
Energy Efficiency and renewables - Supporting Policies in Local level for energy
The use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and the implementation of Energy Efficiency (EE) measures in South-East Europe represent important chances to cleverly rethink the energy management.Public local administrations can play a leading role to reduce the impact on the environment and to improve the financial management within the energy field.

M2RES

Project full name:
From Marginal to renewable energy sources sites
M2RES aims at recovering marginal areas as for example landfills, mines, former military sites/supply-storages and contaminated areas, through investments in renewable energy sources. The project is co-financed by the EU on the framework of South East Europe Programme 2007-2013. The project is co-financed by the EU on the framework of South East Europe Programme 2007-2013.

Alterenergy

Project full name:
Alterenergy for sustainability in the Adriatic
The Alterenergy project promotes energy sustainability in the small communities of the Adriatic area by advocating energy efficiency and the production of energy from renewable sources.Alterenergy will develop replicable models for the sustainable management of energy resources that can be applied in small Adriatic communities. It will also support them in planning and managing integrated actions dealing with energy saving and energy production from renewable sources.

SmartSpaces

Project full name:
SmartSpaces
The SMARTSPACES service will enable public authorities in Europe significantly to improve their management of energy in the buildings they occupy. The implementation of operational services includes 11 pilot sites with more than 550 buildings in 8 countries (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey, Serbia).

VERYSchool

Project full name:
Valuable EneRgY for a smart School
VERYSchool will develop customised energy savings strategies and ICT solutions for EU schools. It will do this through the integration of Smart LED Lighting, Smart Meters, Building Energy Management Systems, Energy Simulation Software, and Energy Action Management Software. Each of these technologies are brought to the project from consortium partners with companies dedicated specifically to each hardware or software.

EPIC-HUB

Project full name:
Energy Positive Neighbourhoods Infrastructure Middleware based on Energy-Hub Concept Methodology
The goal of EPIC-HUB is to develop new methodology, architecture and services able to provide improved Energy Performances to Neighbourhoods (NBH), combining Energy-Hub-based Energy Optimization capabilities with a Seamless Integration of pre-existing energy ICT systems and other ICT system deployed.EPIC-HUB focuses on efficient Management, Control and Decision-Support Energy Policies at neighbourhood-level, defining an interoperable Middleware solution and a structured vision for the communities to use and share renewable energy sources, energy storage, and micro-generation, to consistently r

SUSPLAN

Project full name:
Development of regional and Pan-European guidelines for more efficient integration of renewable energy into future infrastructures
The overall impact from SUSPLAN is contribution to a substantially increased share of renewable energy sources (RES) in Europe at an acceptable level of cost. thereby increasing security of supply and competitiveness of RES industry. The main objective is to develop guidelines for more efficient integration of RES into future infrastructures as a support for decision makers at regional as well as Pan-European level. The guidelines shall consist of strategies. recommendations. criteria and benchmarks for political.
