NEMO

Project full name:
Novel E-MObility Grid Model
The project team’s goal is to develop the NEMO simulation and optimisation tool suite to assess the impact of a large number of EVs on the power grid. The tool suite will be based on the existing complementary simulation tools PLATOS, SimTOOL and energyPRO from the project’s core partners DNV KEMA, Fraunhofer ISE and EMD. These tools will be further extended for grid impact of EVs, and a framework will be developed to integrate these tools in a cooperative suite for impact studies on all grid voltage levels.

Flexible

Project full name:
Flexible Electricity Networks
In this FLEXIBLE study, our focus is primarily on distribution grids since the largest impact of future changes in the electricity networks are to be expected at the LV level. The basic objective of this FLEXIBLE study is to create conditions for integration of small generation and loads instead of just connecting them to the grid.

ELECTRA

Project full name:
European Liaison on Electricity Committed Towards long-term Research Activities for Smart Grids.
The ELECTRA Integrated Research Programme on Smart Grids (ELECTRA) brings together the partners of the EERA Joint Programme on Smart Grids (JP SG) to reinforce and accelerate Europe’s medium to long term research cooperation in this area and to drive a closer integration of the research programmes of the participating organisations and of the related national programmes. ELECTRA’s joint research activity and collaborative support actions build on an established track record of collaboration and engagement.

INNERS

Project full name:
Innovative Energy Recovery Strategies in the urban water cycle
Improving the energy balance of the urban water cycle. That is the purpose of INNERS, which stands for INNovative Energy Recovery Strategies in the urban water cycle. 11 partners from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg think in a new way about the urban water cycle. Not only as a system that transports water, but also as a potential source of energy. Valuable energy which is lost in the current situation.

Smart Cities

Project full name:
Smart Cities
The general aim of the Smart Cities project is to create an innovation network between governments and academic partners leading to excellence in the domain of the development and take-up of e-services, setting a new baseline for e-service delivery in the whole North Sea region.Smart Cities will create: 1.a network of North Sea e-Government leaders with ambitious transformational e-Government Strategies aiming to deliver innovative and excellent public services with documented improved quality of life and enhanced competitiveness;2.an academic and research network which will support and help l

GREAT

Project full name:
GROWING RENEWABLE ENERGY APPLICATIONS AND TECHOLOGIES
The project entitled 'Growing Renewable Energy Applications and Technologies' (GREAT) seeks to accelerate the deployment of Smart Grid systems in North West Europe. The project is designed to stimulate SMEs to develop innovation and create employment by developing synergies between Smart Grids, Renewable Energy technology and Distributive Generation.

smartCEM

Project full name:
smartCEM: Smart Connected Electro Mobility
Four European cities/regions (Barcelona, Gipuzkoa-San Sebastian, Newcastle and Reggio Emilia) have come together to demonstrate the role of ICT solutions for cities and citizens in addressing shortcomings of electro mobility. Electric power solutions have proven to offer a potentially ground-breaking solution for more energy-efficient and less petrol-dependent vehicles and transport systems. The consortium aims to integrate regional initiatives which have been established all over Europe.

Greening European Transportation Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles

Project full name:
Greening European Transportation Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles
The project envisions the analysis, testing and deployment of a multi transport mode network using today’s road infrastructure and railways coupled with an electric car charging network of battery switch stations and charge spots powered by renewable energy along with intelligent transport systems. It is an innovative project that will serve as a technology roadmap for creating a pan European electric car network.

GARPUR

Project full name:
Generally Accepted Reliability Principle with Uncertainty modelling and through probabilistic Risk assessment
The GARPUR project designs, develops, assesses and evaluates such new reliability criteria to be progressively implemented over the next decades at a pan-European level, while maximising social welfare

e-Highway2050

Project full name:
Modular Development Plan of the Pan-European Transmission System 2050
The e-Highway2050 project is supported by the EU Seventh Framework Programme and is aimed at developing a methodology to support the planning of the Pan-European Transmission Network, focusing on 2020 to 2050, to ensure the reliable delivery of renewable electricity and pan-European market integration. The project will result in a modular development plan for possible electricity high- ways and options for a complete pan-European grid architecture, based on various future power system scenarios.
