Wind on the Grid is a project focused on preparation of the European electricity network for the large-scale integration of wind farms through the design. development and validation of new tools and devices for its planning. control and operation in a competitive market.

The project Web2Energy is directed to implement and approve all three pillars of 'Smart Distribution'. Smart Metering – the consumer participates in the energy market Smart Energy Management – Clustering of small power producers . Smart Distribution Automation – higher reliability of supply.

ELECTRICA is implementing The Virtual Synchronous Generator (GSV). ELECTRICA, together with the Polytechnic University from Bucharest and another eight research and education institutions from Western Europe, are part of a project to implement the virtual synchronous machines stabilizing the frequency in the distribution networks where there is a high degree of decentralized power generation (VSYNC project). The VSYNC was installed at Cheia in Prahova county (Romania) within the Power Distribution Branch “Electrica Distribution North Muntenia”.

The aim of this pilot project is the demonstration of the technical and economical feasibility of the VPP concept-Within the project duration further decentralized power producer. Like CHP. Biomass or Windturbines. will be included into the VPP.

Via a full-scale SmartGrid development and demonstration project in a 60 kV distribution grid it is sought to achieve sufficient knowledge and a basis for a long-term re-design process. in order to turn the traditional passive distribution grids into active grids that can optimally utilise the growing volume of decentralised production.

The overall impact from SUSPLAN is contribution to a substantially increased share of renewable energy sources (RES) in Europe at an acceptable level of cost. thereby increasing security of supply and competitiveness of RES industry. The main objective is to develop guidelines for more efficient integration of RES into future infrastructures as a support for decision makers at regional as well as Pan-European level. The Sol-ion kit has been developed to accommodate PV energy production of 5 kWp (peak) with a battery rated from 5 to 15 kWh and a nominal voltage of 170 V to 350 V.
