COSSMIC

Project full name:
Collaborating Smart Solar-powered Micro-grids
The CoSSMic project aims to develop the ICT tools needed to facilitate this sharing of renewable energy within a neighbourhood, and will show the feasibility of its concept in two different areas: Konstanz in Germany and the Province of Caserta in Italy. At these trial locations, which are rather different in terms of population, sun, and available equipment, CoSSMic will investigate how to motivate people to participate in acquiring (more) renewable energy and the sharing of renewable energy in the neighbourhood, and test methods for making money with these schemes.

STARGRID

Project full name:
STandard Analysis supporting smart eneRgy GRID development
The STARGRID project aims to obtain a comprehensive picture of Smart Grid standardisation procedures and to critically assess the large and complex standardisation landscape on Smart Grids at international level, including the industry new developments and initiatives in this field.

SecMobil - Secure eMobility

Project full name:
SecMobil - Secure eMobility
Due to the strong dependence of the electric mobility of ICT systems of modern IT security a long-term importance is a cross-cutting technology. All actors will be in the next phase of evolution of electric mobility are very interested in trusted solutions. Important from a consideration of economic aspects is that IT security is closely linked to business models and is under a legal perspective.

Load Management for commercial consumers

Project full name:
Load Management for commercial consumers
In the project load management for commercial consumers 30 business enterprises in Salzburg are analyzed in terms of their energy consumption and load curve. It is aimed to identify which loads or devices are controllable/defeatable without restricting the enterprise’s working processes. Apart from that it is investigated which measures or incentives should be taken to enable the usage of flexible loads in working business models.

IntegrA

Project full name:
IntegrA (German abbreviation for “Integrierte Smart Grid Referenzarchitektur lokaler intelligenter Verteilnetze und überregionaler virtueller Kraftwerke“ (Integrated Smart Grid reference architecture))
How can low- and medium-voltage networks be operated in a stable and secure manner in the presence of numerous interrelated and interdependent smart-grid services within the European energy markets? The requirements of various markets and stakeholder acting under different political and regulatory conditions are to harmonized with local conditions of the electrical grid. The project aims to realize a smart grid infrastructure Salzburg that is described in reference architecture model in accordance with the Smart Grid Mandate M/490.

BEAMS

Project full name:
Buildings Energy Advanced Management System
BEAMS strategic goal is the development of an advanced, integrated management system which enables energy efficiency in buildings and special infrastructures from a holistic perspective (i.e. considering the indoors areas, the public spaces around the facility and the interaction of the overall compound with the grid and urban network outside it).The project will include an open interoperability gateway allowing the management of diverse, heterogeneous sources and loads, some of them typically present nowadays in spaces of public use (e.g.

NRG4Cast

Project full name:
Energy Forecasting
NRG4Cast is developing real-time management, analytics and forecasting services for energy distribution networks in urban/rural communities. We are analysing information regarding network topology and devices, energy demand and consumption, environmental data and energy prices data. The services that will be integrated in a software module pipeline providing prediction and the decision support system based on network monitoring, anomaly detection, route cause analysis, trend detection, planning and optimisation.

COOPERaTE

Project full name:
Control and Optimisation for Energy Positive Neighbourhoods
COOPERaTE will develop an open, scalable neighbourhood service and management platform that integrates local monitoring and control functions with a cloud based service platform for the delivery of innovative energy management, security and other services in order to progress towards energy positive neighbourhoods and achieving 2020 targets.

SmartKYE

Project full name:
Smart grid KeY nEighborhood indicator cockpit
SmartKYE strategic goal is to develop a system for the future smart grid neighbourhood that will enable better business decisions to be made based on real-time fine-grained data.

ORIGIN

Project full name:
Orchestration of Renewable Integrated Generation in Neighbourhoods
The ORIGIN project's mission is to develop a sophisticated intelligent ICT system for the management of energy in a community, and associated business models, focussed on the concepts of aligning energy demand with the availability of renewables-based supply, addressing community goals for cost, carbon footprint and other objectives.
