CIPOWER

Project full name:
Controllable and Intelligent Power Components
The route towards a more energy sustainable world goes through an improved energy system on all levels from the producers to the consumers. The technological challenges that need to be addressed to realize the strategic energy objectives are faced in the program Çcontrollable and intelligent power componentsÉ. The objective is to develop innovative power components with advanced control and monitoring that pave the path towards an optimum power transmission and distribution system.

SGS - Smart Grid Solar

Project full name:
SGS - Smart Grid Solar
The main goal of the project smart grid solar is to develop methods and technologies in order to increase the amount of renewable energy sources (particularly photovoltaics). Solar electrics and also wind energy, is dependent on the fluctuating weather conditions and therefore in the current form cannot be used to adress the base load supply.A scenario of using more than 25% of solar electrics is only realistic, if methods are found to increase i.e. the internal consumption or to invoke methods for intermediate storage of energy.

VIS NOVA

Project full name:
Sustainable and efficient Energy for Rural Regions
The project pursuits an integrated approach which addresses both the supply (provision of sustainable energy) and demand site (efficient use). Best practices will be researched, transferred and tested in pilot measures (both pre-investment and small investment) before the regional energy development plans will be adopted with a political vote. During this process, financial resources from national programmes will be explored and responsibilities for the plans’ implementation assigned.

MANERGY

Project full name:
Paving the way for self-sufficient regional energy supply based on sustainable energy concepts and renewable energy sources
MANERGY is a transnational initiative financed by the European Programme for Territorial Cooperation “Central Europe 2007 – 2013”.It aims at favoring responsible use and protection of the environmental potentials of Central Europe by promoting innovative and sustainable approaches to environment friendly energy source management, including an increase in renewable energy use as well as significant reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

INNERS

Project full name:
Innovative Energy Recovery Strategies in the urban water cycle
Improving the energy balance of the urban water cycle. That is the purpose of INNERS, which stands for INNovative Energy Recovery Strategies in the urban water cycle. 11 partners from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg think in a new way about the urban water cycle. Not only as a system that transports water, but also as a potential source of energy. Valuable energy which is lost in the current situation.

Smart Cities

Project full name:
Smart Cities
The general aim of the Smart Cities project is to create an innovation network between governments and academic partners leading to excellence in the domain of the development and take-up of e-services, setting a new baseline for e-service delivery in the whole North Sea region.Smart Cities will create: 1.a network of North Sea e-Government leaders with ambitious transformational e-Government Strategies aiming to deliver innovative and excellent public services with documented improved quality of life and enhanced competitiveness;2.an academic and research network which will support and help l

EnVision 2020

Project full name:
EnVision 2020
Reducing pollution, improving energy efficiency and the use of energy from renewable sources are the central priority in the EU agenda.

Urb.Energy

Project full name:
Energy Efficient and Integrated Urban Development Action
Urb.Energy project combines the approach of energy efficient refurbishment of residential buildings with integrated urban development concepts, the modernisation of the energy supply infrastructure, the revaluation of the residential environment and the identification of innovative financing instruments.

smartCEM

Project full name:
smartCEM: Smart Connected Electro Mobility
Four European cities/regions (Barcelona, Gipuzkoa-San Sebastian, Newcastle and Reggio Emilia) have come together to demonstrate the role of ICT solutions for cities and citizens in addressing shortcomings of electro mobility. Electric power solutions have proven to offer a potentially ground-breaking solution for more energy-efficient and less petrol-dependent vehicles and transport systems. The consortium aims to integrate regional initiatives which have been established all over Europe.

DIMMER

Project full name:
District Information Modeling and Management for Energy Reduction
ICT is becoming a key factor to enhance energy optimization in smart cities. Thanks to ICT it is possible to access real-time information about building environmental characteristics and energy consumption. At district level, information about district heating and cooling and the electricity grid can be accessed. Middleware technologies enable a coming interface to monitor and control devices such that these heterogeneous sources of information can be put together in a centralized decision system.
