The goal is to obtain “Harmony” between renewable energy sources, the power system and the loads in order to keep stability in all aspects seen from a harmonic point of view which is an urgent need due to the fast growth of power electronic based generators and loads.

CHPCOM

Project full name: 
Combined Heat and Power Communication
The goal for CHPCOM is, in cooperation with Danish CHP owners, power market stakeholders, plant suppliers and grid utilities, to develop a standardized data communication platform, by using the international standards IEC 61850 for data information exchange and IEC 62351 for data and communication security. A key goal of the CHPCOM project is also to developed new business cases, reduce business uncertainty and reduce the transaction cost for all stakeholders. This practical demonstration will bring Danish CHPs to the next step towards the future Smart Grid.

Application of smart grid in photovoltaic power systems
The 20% renewable in 2020 - goals set by the European Commission give rise to the stress on the existing transmission and distribution networks, due to distributed power generation. This burden can be mitigated either by upgrading the networks, or by introducing the SmartGrid technology, or the combination. The development of the essence of SmartGrid is still at infancy, and many projects regarding SmartGrid are currently in progress or are being initiated, in order to develop the required technologies and standards, and demonstrate the current state.

Energy Demand Aware Open Services for Smart Grid Intelligent Automation
SmartHG will develope economically viable Intelligent Automation Software services gathering real-time data about energy usage from residential homes and exploiting such data for intelligent automation pursuing two main goals: minimise energy usage and cost for each home, support the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) in optimising operation of the grid.

Intelligent opladning af elektriske biler
The goal is to develop an intelligent e-car charging system to be used worldwide, whether the car is parked at home, at work or in a car park. Intelligent charging enables automatic charging outside peak hours which makes it possible to increase production of CO2 neutral electricity from e.g. windmills. Due to fluctuating hourly prices on electricity the charging post will contain both a price indicator and an environmental impact indicator. On this the user will base the charging.

Via a full-scale SmartGrid development and demonstration project in a 60 kV distribution grid it is sought to achieve sufficient knowledge and a basis for a long-term re-design process. in order to turn the traditional passive distribution grids into active grids that can optimally utilise the growing volume of decentralised production.
