NEMO

Project full name:
Novel E-MObility Grid Model
The project team’s goal is to develop the NEMO simulation and optimisation tool suite to assess the impact of a large number of EVs on the power grid. The tool suite will be based on the existing complementary simulation tools PLATOS, SimTOOL and energyPRO from the project’s core partners DNV KEMA, Fraunhofer ISE and EMD. These tools will be further extended for grid impact of EVs, and a framework will be developed to integrate these tools in a cooperative suite for impact studies on all grid voltage levels.

ELECTRA

Project full name:
European Liaison on Electricity Committed Towards long-term Research Activities for Smart Grids.
The ELECTRA Integrated Research Programme on Smart Grids (ELECTRA) brings together the partners of the EERA Joint Programme on Smart Grids (JP SG) to reinforce and accelerate Europe’s medium to long term research cooperation in this area and to drive a closer integration of the research programmes of the participating organisations and of the related national programmes. ELECTRA’s joint research activity and collaborative support actions build on an established track record of collaboration and engagement.

Greening European Transportation Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles

Project full name:
Greening European Transportation Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles
The project envisions the analysis, testing and deployment of a multi transport mode network using today’s road infrastructure and railways coupled with an electric car charging network of battery switch stations and charge spots powered by renewable energy along with intelligent transport systems. It is an innovative project that will serve as a technology roadmap for creating a pan European electric car network.

GARPUR

Project full name:
Generally Accepted Reliability Principle with Uncertainty modelling and through probabilistic Risk assessment
The GARPUR project designs, develops, assesses and evaluates such new reliability criteria to be progressively implemented over the next decades at a pan-European level, while maximising social welfare

EVOLVDSO

Project full name:
Development of methodologies and tools for new and evolving DSO roles for efficient DRES integration in distribution networks
With the growing relevance of distributed renewable energy sources (DRES) in the generation mix and the increasingly pro-active demand for electricity, power systems and their mode of operation need to evolve.evolvDSO will define future roles of distribution system operators (DSOs) on the basis of scenarios which will be driven by different DRES penetration levels, various degrees of technological progress, and differing customer acceptance patterns. The evolvDSO consortium addresses the main research and technology gaps that need to be solved for DSOs to efficiently fulfil their emerging and f

URB-GRADE

Project full name:
Decision Support in the Cloud
URB-Grade is a three-year EU project that designs, develops and validates a platform for decision support (District as a Service (DaaS)). The platform helps policymakers to make better decisions in terms of cost and energy efficiency and to increase citizen awareness of how to save energy and derive a greater proportion of energy from renewable sources. The main users of the DaaS platform are local policymakers (for example city authorities and utilities).

Encourage

Project full name:
Embedded Intelligent Controls for Buildings with Renewable Generation and Storage
The ENCOURAGE project aims to develop embedded intelligence and integration technologies that will directly optimize energy use in buildings and enable active participation in the future smart grid environment.

e-DASH

Project full name:
Electricity Demand and Supply Harmonization for Evs
The e-DASH project aims at the harmonization of electricity demand in Smart Grids for sustainable integration of electric vehicles. This is addressed by an intelligent charging system supported with real-time exchange of charge related data between EVs and the grid. Adopting the e-DASH approach allows high current fast-charging for large numbers of EVs in a brand-independent way and price-adaptive charging/reverse-charging at optimum price for the customer leading to increased desirability of EVs. In order to prevent damages of costly EV batteries, sophisticated charge control is inevitable.

SmartC2Net

Project full name:
SmartC2Net
Goal of SmartC2Net is to enable robust smart grid control utilizing heterogeneous third-party communication infrastructures.

FINESCE

Project full name:
Future INtErnet Smart Utility ServiCEs
FINESCE builds on and extends the results of the FI-PPP FINSENY project to realise sustainable real time smart energy services. The consortium includes leading energy and ICT operators, manufacturers and service providers as well as research organisations and SMEs from all over Europe. Together, they contribute directly to strongly focused trials and business innovation. The project features a scale and scope ensuring the FINESCE results will drive the FI-WARE and Future Internet success and long-term exploitation internationally.
