Brief description and/or other information regarding the project:
Smart Electric Lyon is an EDF initiative on the Grand Lyon area, and is one of the most important experimentation program on the evolution of uses of electric power. It tests innovations with almost 25 000 consumers – households, companies, local authorities – enabling them to know and understand their power consumption and to reduce it. The project objectives are to: • Design and build a wide range of interactive services and devices meant to optimize comfort and to better manage the electricity budget of consumers; • Sensitize consumers and Grand Lyon actors to the challenges of the control of energy consumption; • Draw lessons from the massive participation of consumers to the experimentations and from an unprecedented and multidisciplinary research program regrouping human, technical and mathematical sciences; • Evaluate the development potential, at French market scale, of electricity demand control and management solutions.
