FLEXGRID

This project addresses fault levels. It builds on learning from previous IFI and first tier LCN Fund projects. It would examine new ways of measuring and monitoring fault levels, which could avoid the need for expensive reinforcement. The project would also evaluate new fault level mitigation technologies, which could provide DNOs with significantly cheaper alternatives to reinforcement. These techniques could reduce the costs of connecting DG, providing significant benefits to distribution customers. This is an issue relevant to all DNOs.
