Brief description and/or other information regarding the project:
Energos is a research project for developing knowledge and technologies to enable progress in the introduction of smart electricity grids. The main feature of these types of grids is their capacity to manage the operations of all their connected agents in real time, to ensure a sustainable, efficient and safe supply. The agents involved are the generators, which provide electricity to the grid; the consumers who use the energy; and those who perform both functions. Because they are smart-integrated, both small generators and the millions of clients connected to the distribution grids will be linked through information and communication systems, increasing the automation and control in those networks. All that will involve the incorporation of new technologies and solutions for operating and planning the grids, controlling energy production, including renewable energy and introducing new energy services, obtaining greater energy efficiency.
