Increase the participation (Attract, Interest and Engage) of energy consumers (i.e. Households) in reducing energy consumption through behavioral change by introducing appliance level consumption detail (obtained through unique disaggregation software) via Gamification. Starting with a zero-cost/zero-inconvenience (only downloading an app basically, no hardware install needed) basic information on patterns of energy consumption and detect and present one perhaps two or three major energy guzzlers. These appliances/devices can be obtained and revealed through a highly attractive and engaging game, combining relevant data (appliance-level detail) with successful consumer attraction (Gamification) at zero-cost/zero-inconvenience. Through increased participation we aim to grow consumers to customers (paying for game-elements) and increase loyalty.
