Brief description and/or other information regarding the project:
Distribution Automation (DA) mainly with the aim to reduce CML by MV FLISR* is not new and is deployed by many DNO's** on primary- and strategic secundary substations (e.g. NOP's***). In many cases the final situation of this kind of DA is that it will be installed in 10% of the substations. This means that 90% of the substations will stay passive/dumb. This is where DA-Li comes in because the benefits drop and the amount of substations increases there is a need for disruptive innovation. Simple lowcost technology with limited functionality.
The DA-Li 2015 pilot is an initiative to invest necessary functionality and challenge supplier to provide low-cost solutions. To do so 300 substations are equiped with systems of 4 suppliers in 3 areas. Main functionalities are (flexible) public light control, energy monitoring and FPI**** reading. Around Q2-2016 Enexis will decide if the DA-Li concept will be installed in all her 30.000 secondary substations.
