NOBEL

Project full name:
Neighbourhood Oriented Brokerage ELectricity and monitoring system
Our MISSION in NOBEL was to develop, integrate and validate ICT enabling a reduction of the currently spent energy, by providing a more efficient distributed monitoring and control system for local network operators and prosumers. The key to NOBEL’s efficiency improvement is that prosumers become sources of both energy and information. The information allows the energy system to better adapt the amount of electricity in the network to the real time demand.

More Microgrids

Project full name:
Advanced Architectures and Control Concepts for More Microgrids
The aims of this Test Facility is to: • Test centralized and decentralized control strategies in grid interconnected mode; • Test communication protocols and components including aspects related to energy trading; • A control and monitoring system built around IEC 61850 standard designed and prototyped; • Control strategies resulting from agent software to make use of these control and monitoring functions; • Development of intelligent modules embedding the required functions to allow a full integration of each generating/load unit into the system.

iTESLA

Project full name:
Innovative Tools for Electrical System Security within Large Areas
The purpose of the iTESLA project is to develop a common toolbox, allowing the different TSOs to increase coordination and harmonize operating procedures.

INTEGRAL

Project full name:
ICT-platform based Distributed Control in Electricity Grids
The INTEGRAL project aims to build and demonstrate an industry-quality reference solution for DER aggregation-level control and coordination based on commonly available ICT components, standards and platforms. During the project, three field demonstrations have been developed, that demonstrated the practical validity of the Integrated Distributed Control solutions that have being developed. Each pilots was set up in a different country and each pilot targets a different aspect.

ICOEUR

Project full name:
Intelligent coordination of operation and emergency control of EU and Russian power grids
The development and prototypically implementation of new methods and tools is the major goal of the ICOEUR project. New technologies like Wide Area Monitoring. Control and Protection as well as advanced network controllers (FACTS) and HVDC systems will be considered. Envisioned ICOEUR goals can be achieved only in close cooperative work of experts. with extensive knowledge of EU and Russian power systems as well as manufacturers and network operators.

Grid4EU

Project full name:
Large-Scale Demonstration of Advanced Smart GRID Solutions with wide Replication and Scalability Potential for EUROPE
GRID4EU is a Large-Scale Demonstration of Advanced Smart Grid Solutions with wide Replication and Scalability Potential for EUROPE. The project is led by six electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) from Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden, in close partnership with a set of major electricity retailers, manufacturers and research organizations. As a whole, the consortium gathers 27 partners.ERDF is the Coordinator of the project, while Enel Distribuzione is the Technical Director and Iberdrola Distribución the Chairman of the General Assembly.

Green eMotion

Project full name:
Green eMotion
Green eMotion will connect ongoing regional and national electromobility initiatives leveraging on the results and comparing the different technology approaches to ensure the best solutions prevail for the European market. A virtual marketplace will be created to enable the different actors to interact and to allow for new highvalue transportation services as well as EV-user convenience in billing (EU Clearing House).

G4V

Project full name:
Grid for Vehicles
The project of the G4V consortium will generate fast and openly available results : an analytical framework to evaluate the impact of a large scale introduction on the grid infrastructure and a visionary “road map” for the year 2020 and beyond.

EU-DEEP

Project full name:
The birth of a EUropean Distributed EnErgy Partnership that will help the largescale implementation of distributed energy resources in Europe
The project brings together eight European energy utilities and aims at removing most of the technical and non-technical barriers that prevent a massive deployment of distributed energy resources (DER) in Europe. In partnership with manufacturers. research organisations. professionals. national agencies and a bank. they implemented a demand-pull rather than technology-push approach. This new approach provided three tentative 'fast-tracks options' to speed up the large-scale implementation of DER in Europe.

Elforsk Smart grid programme

Project full name:
Elforsk Smart grid programme
Elforsk Smart Grid Programme is driven as a national programmer for four years with financing and participating from Swedish utilities and other companies (e.g. ABB and Ericson). A common steering group takes decision for each project/sub project in the programme. The normal delivery from a project will be an open report available for all participants and normally also put on internet as a public document. The programme will also interact with other large pilot projects as Stockholm Royal Seaport with Fortum and ABB and Gotland Smart Grid project with Vattenfall and ABB.
