E-BALANCE

Project full name:
Balancing energy production and consumption in energy efficient smart neighbourhoods
The problem space is multidimensional, but can be abstracted as a combination of social, economic and technical aspects.

INERTIA

Project full name:
Integrating Active, Flexible and Responsive Tertiary Prosumers into a Smart Distribution Grid
INERTIA addresses challenge :“Data management infrastructures to allow electricity production and consumption to be measured, reported and controlled (and eventually credited or billed)” and aims to deliver an efficient Distribution Grid overlay control/management infrastructure that will maximize the response capacity of the vast small commercial prosumer base (tertiary buildings, offices etc), presenting incentives and delivering benefits through their automated active participation in the energy market.

E-Mobility NSR

Project full name:
North Sea Region Electric Mobility Network
The project aims to increase accessibility by fostering the diffusion of e-mobility and stimulating the use of public and private electric car transport as well as freight across the North Sea Region (NSR).Specific project objectives are: To provide state of the art information which may help policy development in e-mobility in the NSR; To provide insight on gaps and needs in respect of infra-structure, logistics, and preliminary standards for multi charging techniques; To develop a NSR smart grid concept with charging points, hence increasing accessibility in the region; To provide a long-ter

DISCERN

Project full name:
DISCERN
As the patterns of power generation and distribution are rapidly changing in Europe towards a highly dispersed and volatile system, Distribution System Operators need to completely change traditional ways of grid operations. Currently developed solutions to increase the intelligence of medium and low voltage grids to cope with this task are often highly specialized, non-replicable and therefore not cost-effective.

C-DAX

Project full name:
Cyber-secure Data and Control Cloud for Power Grids\
The progressive penetration of conventional and renewable distributed generation is driving major changes in the whole power systems infrastructure justifying the introduction of more intelligence, in particular, in power distribution networks. The information infrastructure will play a central role as future power systems cannot be supported by centralized information infrastructures on which today's power systems rely.

Odysseus

Project full name:
Open Dynamic System for Holistic energy Management of the dynamics of energy supply, demand and storage in urban areas
The aim of the Odysseus project is to develop an Open Dynamic System (ODYS) enabling the ‘holistic energy management’ of the dynamics of energy supply, demand and storage in urban areas, on top of an open integration platform supporting the pilot scenario’s for designated urban areas exemplified in the cities of Rome and Manchester. While in Manchester project results will be validated on a simulated energy efficiency environment, in Rome it is in the early stages of dealing with energy efficiency in public building.

UMBRELLA

Project full name:
Innovative tools for the future coordinated and stable operation of the pan-European electricity transmission system
Develop a dedicated innovative toolbox to support the grid security approach of transmission system operators (TSOs).

ECHO-SAG

Project full name:
ECHO-SAG
Increase the participation (Attract, Interest and Engage) of energy consumers (i.e. Households) in reducing energy consumption through behavioral change by introducing appliance level consumption detail (obtained through unique disaggregation software) via Gamification. Starting with a zero-cost/zero-inconvenience (only downloading an app basically, no hardware install needed) basic information on patterns of energy consumption and detect and present one perhaps two or three major energy guzzlers.

CSGriP

Project full name:
Cellular Smart Grids Platform

SSU

Project full name:
Smart Storage Project
Enexis developed and currently operates an electricity storage system called the Smart Storage Unit (SSU), which was developed under the Smart Storage Project. Its objective is to enable field-testing and research of advanced smart storage technologies in low voltage (LV) distribution grids. The SSU was installed in the LV distribution grid for the purpose of enabling applications such as, but not limited to: the increase of local PV consumption, improvement of reliability and flexibility, reduction of losses, and maximizing the utilization of local infrastructure.
