REALISEGRID

Project full name:
REALISEGRID
The objective of REALISEGRID is to develop a set of criteria. metrics. methods and tools to assess how the transmission infrastructure should be optimally developed to support the achievement of a reliable. competitive and sustainable electricity supply in the European Union (EU).

QUALITY AND SAFETY

Project full name:
Power Quality and Safety Requirements for People and Electrical Equipment in Smart Grid Customer Domain
The project idea focuses on power quality, protection of equipment and safety requirements for people working with smart grid technology.

ProAktivNetz

Project full name:
Vorausplanende automatisierte aktive Verteilnetz-Betriebsführung mit Integration dezentraler Erzeuge
ProActivNetz project objectives are: 1)To extend an existing tool, which provide plans for grid operators for optimal operation of the distribuion network through precise monitoring of the distribution network and reduces outage times (e.g. Planned Outage, Relief of Loading, Switch back to normal status, Real Time restoration). 2) To consider and integrate decentralized generation (including their forecast) placed in medium voltage and low voltage network, as well as parallel planed outages or unplanned disturbances within optimal network operation schedules.

OpenNode

Project full name:
Open Architecture for Secondary Nodes of the Electricity SmartGrid#
OpenNode project is focused on the electrical distribution grid operation and explores answers on the three challenges introduced: • How to improve the distribution grid monitoring to cope with volatile states in the grid • How to integrate the “smart” substation automation devices to increase the efficiency of the distribution grid • How to interoperate with the different roles e.g. operation of the smart meters. power and grid operation

Meter-ON

Project full name:
Supporting the development and deployment of advanced metering infrastructures in Europe
Meter-ON is a coordination and support action to steer the implementation of smart metering solutions throughout Europe.

MetaPV

Project full name:
PV Smart Grid in practise
MetaPV is the first project world-wide that will demonstrate the provision of electrical benefits from photovoltaics (PV) on a large scale. Additional benefits for active grid support from PV will be demonstrated at two sites: a residential area of 128 households with 4 kWp each, and an industrial zone of 31 PV systems with 200 kWp each. The enhanced control capacities to be implemented into PV inverters and demonstrated are active voltage control, fault ride-through capability, autonomous grid operation, and interaction of distribution system control with PV systems.

ISOLVES: PSSA-M

Project full name:
Innovative Solutions to Optimise Low Voltage Electricity Systems: Power Snap-Shot Analysis by Meters (PSSA-M)
SOLVES:PSSA-M investigates technical conditions for the optimal integration of decentralised renewable energy plants in low voltage grids. Due to lack of accurate knowledge of the grid, high safety margins based on estimated peak demands in single line sections have to be considered today. Therefore, the objective of the project ISOLVES:PSSA-M is to create real images of voltages in local networks. For this purpose a method is developed to take an instantaneous image of the network, the so-called 'Power Snap-Shot Analysis by Meters' (PSSA-M).

IoE

Project full name:
Internet of Energy for Electric Mobility
The objective of Internet of Energy (IoE) is to develop hardware. software and middleware for seamless. secure connectivity and interoperability achieved by connecting the Internet with the energy grids. The project will evaluate and develop the needed ICT for the efficient implementation in future smart grid structures. RWE will consider -as a WP leader- several business models from the perspective of a grid operator.

ICT Smart Synergy

Project full name:
SGSM- Smart Synergy Potentials
For Smart Grid and e-mobility applications different data and informations have to be recorded and distributed with different technical requirements (eg amount of data, real-time capability, data security, availability and redundancy, etc.), which also fundamentally affects the construction costs of ICT infrastructure. The synergistic use of the ICT infrastructure for multiple applications including the validation of the actual realizable synergies are key objectives in the project.

HiT

Project full name:
SGSM-Häuser als interaktive Teilnehmer im Smart Grid
A demonstration building is to be planned and constructed as flagship project, in order to investigate the possibilities and benefits of Smart grids in connection with buildings, which should then be brought to the attention of the broad public to make this topic visible and oncrete
