eSESH

Project full name:
Saving Energy in Social Housing with ICT
As part of the ICT PSP programme of the European Commission Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, the eSESH project aimed to design, develop and pilot new solutions to enable sustained reductions in energy consumption across European social housing.

ZUQDE

Project full name:
SGSM: Zentrale Spannungs - (U) und Blindleistungsregelung - (Q) mit dezentralen Einspeisungen in der Demoregion Salzburg
Field test Lungau: medium voltage grid including a transformer station and 4 hydro power plants included in the control loop. ZUQDE will develop further the DMS application Volt/var Control (VVC) to keep a certain voltage level in the whole distribution network with a high penetration of Distributed Generation (DG). This will enable three possible actions: changing the reactive power output of DG units, changing transformer taps, switching capacitor banks. The experimental development will be finalized with the closed loop operation of VVC in the network of Lungau, Salzburg.

Web2Energy

Project full name:
Web2Energy
The project Web2Energy is directed to implement and approve all three pillars of 'Smart Distribution'. Smart Metering – the consumer participates in the energy market Smart Energy Management – Clustering of small power producers . Smart Distribution Automation – higher reliability of supply.

V2G Strategies

Project full name:
Aufbau von Vehicle 2 Grid bezogenen Entwicklungsstrategien für österreichische Entscheidungsträger
Technical, economic and ecological impacts for Austria’s energy system (until 2050) due to massive e-mobility penetrations are examined. The options of system related e-mobility integration in urban and rural case studies are analyzed developing active grid integration as well as new business models (e.g. loading strategies, balancing services) for Grid to Vehicle and Vehicle to Grid concepts. As key results a tailor made guideline and action plan for Austrian decision makers are derived.

V2G Interfaces

Project full name:
SGSM - Erstellung eines Umsetzungsplans zur Vehicle to Grid Interfaceentwicklung
Consequently, this feasibility study evaluates necessary technical parameters (for hard- and software applications) which enable the implementation of Vehicle to Grid driven visualization processes within the Salzburg AG to create e.g. new billing services (such as “Roaming” in electricity grids for e-mobility costumers) or other business processes. These visualization concepts will be derived for costumer’s daily needs incorporating adequate software layouts for perfect handling.

SUSPLAN

Project full name:
Development of regional and Pan-European guidelines for more efficient integration of renewable energy into future infrastructures
The overall impact from SUSPLAN is contribution to a substantially increased share of renewable energy sources (RES) in Europe at an acceptable level of cost. thereby increasing security of supply and competitiveness of RES industry. The main objective is to develop guidelines for more efficient integration of RES into future infrastructures as a support for decision makers at regional as well as Pan-European level. The guidelines shall consist of strategies. recommendations. criteria and benchmarks for political.

Smart-A

Project full name:
Smart-A
The main objective of the Smart-A project is to identify and evaluate the potential synergies that arise from coordinating energy demand of domestic appliances with local sustainable energy generation but also with the requirements of regional load management in electricity networks.

Smart Web Grid

Project full name:
Smart Web Grid
Smart Web Grid analyzes user interaction, technology, cost effectiveness and data security of such a data exchange by means of three concrete examples in the Smart Grid Model Region Salzburg. The goal is the conceptual design of a comprehensive information model for web-service-based access to smart grids data sources, providing a more efficient integration of different applications as well as additional bene?ts through information aggregation. At the same time, it will be made sure on a conceptual level that privacy and security are guaranteed.

Smart Heat Networks

Project full name:
SGSM- Smart Heat Networks
The objective of the project SGMS-SmartHeatNet is to analyse and evaluate the potential of Smart Grid concepts for district heating systems in the model region of Salzburg. Dynamic network simulation and model calculations are applied to investigate intelligent operation strategies and control mechanisms for the reduction of peak loads. Reducing peak loads improves the energetic, environmental and economic efficiency of district heating systems. The utilisation of peak load boilers running on oil and gas can be reduced significantly, which in turn reduces CO2 emissions.

SEESGEN-ict

Project full name:
Support Energy Efficiency in Smart GENeration grids through ICT
The main objectives of SEESGEN-ICT consist in producing a harmonized set of priorities to accelerate the introduction of ICT into the Smart Distributed Power Generation Grids, investigating requirements, barriers and proposing solutions. SEESGEN-ICT will produce policy recommendations, identify best practices and draw scenarios and roadmaps for the next generation of electric distribution network.
