SOSPO, focus is on how control of the power system, at transmission level, needs to be changed to meet the needs of stable and uninterrupted power, despite the fluctuating energy sources in the grid of the future. Technologies that today control the system and ensure a stable and reliable supply will be inadequate. Geographic and dynamic changes in production cause alterations as dynamic as nature. Existing controls are not built to this and the future power system will be vulnerable. Secure operation, needed and expected by society, will require novel concepts for supervision and control at the transmission level.
