Smart Interaction

Start and end dates:
January, 2012 to December, 2014
Prevailing Stage of Development:
Demonstration
Brief description and/or other information regarding the project:
Smart-I proposes a network of optical sensors to be installed on lamp posts in order to modify the light intensity according to the necessities of the urban environment. Unlike other similar products, these sensors not only turn the lights on or off, but also regulate lighting intensity depending on concrete traffic needs.According to studies conducted by Smart-I, the application of these sensors would allow for a reduction in energy consumption for public illumination of up to 49%. Furthermore, the sensors designed by Smart-I can be integrated with other functions, such as video surveillance and the monitoring of automobile traffic.
