Brief description and/or other information regarding the project:
IssyGrid, the first district smart grid in France, aims to design and prototype an urban microgrid for a business district in Issy-les- Moulineaux city, with the goal of enabling energy optimization at the neighbourhood level. The project is developed around three main step : 1) to measure all types of consumption (business buildings, residential building, public equipment, commercial establishments), 2) to develop renewable energy sources and storage solution, 3) to manage locally the grid and the balance between local consumption and local generation. Issues such as electric vehicle charging and public lighting will also be addressed through the project. IssyGrid will be gradually extended in 2013 to the further parts of Issy-les-Moulineaux, including residential buildings. IssyGrid will cover the needs of nearly 10,000 people in a 160,000 squaremeter area.
