Brief description and/or other information regarding the project:
The project entitled 'Growing Renewable Energy Applications and Technologies' (GREAT) seeks to accelerate the deployment of Smart Grid systems in North West Europe. The project is designed to stimulate SMEs to develop innovation and create employment by developing synergies between Smart Grids, Renewable Energy technology and Distributive Generation. Through this project, Basildon Council hopes to assist companies in the area who work in the Green Technology centre access new opportunities in the wider North West Europe region and for those who don't already do so, explore how they can get involved with this growing sector to make the most of the opportunities available.
